Key Challenges
Complex Installation: The installation required precise logistics due to the location and design constraints. The use of cranes and manual positioning of glass units ensured safety and accuracy.
Custom Glass and Steel Design: No proprietary products were used; every element was fully customized. Our team collaborated closely with the architects and engineers to fabricate a unique glass and steel solution tailored to the project’s requirements.
Demanding Timeline: Tight programme dates necessitated meticulous planning and coordination to meet the deadlines without compromising on quality.
Triple-Glazed Solar Control Panels: The glazing system incorporated solar control to maintain optimal indoor conditions by reducing heat gain and glare.
Structural Bonding: Glass units were bonded to the stainless steel frame using Dow Corning’s advanced structural silicone, ensuring a robust and durable assembly capable of withstanding various environmental stresses.

The Brief
Early engagement with the project's architect allowed us to provide a provisional cost estimate and outline designs during the planning stage. This collaborative approach ensured that the structural glazing solutions aligned with both the client's budget and architectural vision. Once appointed, we continued refining the designs in close consultation with the architect, ensuring that every detail adhered to the building’s structural and aesthetic goals.
Our
Approach
3D Site Survey: Our team conducted an in-depth survey to capture accurate site measurements and conditions, which informed the detailed design process.

3D Drawings and Structural Calculations: Using advanced 3D modelling software, we developed designs that accounted for the fall of the steel structure, ensuring that each glass unit would fit perfectly. Comprehensive structural calculations were also provided to guarantee safety and compliance.

Manufacturing and Installation: The custom glass units were manufactured to exact specifications. Once on-site, the units were craned onto the roof and manually maneuvered into place by our fully trained structural glazing operatives.
