Key Challenges
A town house giving complex installation methodology
Full guttering package with responsibility for the air and weather performance of the extension.
Rapid installation to allow other contactors to meet deadlines
Creating the right pitch on the side return.
Working with the architect at planning stage, Glass Structures Limited submitted a pc sum to the client for the required works. We were appointed to the project and worked with the architect to come up with some provisional designs.
The Brief
Our
Approach
Glass Structures Limited attended a site meeting following the demolition of the old extension to get an understanding of what was required and enable us to liaise with the builders on site as to what we required them to prepare for our installation.
Triple laminated glass stringers with the outer skin of glass cut out to take the glass treads and risers making whole structure frameless making it visually astonishing
We back painted the glass stringers/walls which each weighed over 300kg hiding services that were behind to chill the room.
Designing a bespoke gutter with responsibility for the air and weather performance of the extension we prefabricated sheet aluminium by folding and welding it all together to work with our "frameless" roof system.
The Result

Now fully complete, the project looks highly impressive and has made the clients vision a reality.
The frameless oriel window not only compliments the minimalist design of the property it injects that wow factor, creating an all year-round living space, it creates a relaxing place to sit and enjoy a book in any weather.
The frameless side return glazing allows natural light to flood the building enhancing the family's living experience. With the right preparation, planning and design; we were able to achieve perfection.
